| Gilles Rouillon is a soil expert turned winemaker in Courthezon, France. His first full-fledged knock-out vintage is the 2003 Domaine le Soustet Chateauneuf du Pape. Culled from the family-owned vineyards of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah (average age 50 years) with 20% aged for 12 months in small oak barrels.
Beautiful ruby color. This elegantly complex wine drinks like a classic with cherry kirsch and roasted plum flavors. Finishes with mild tannins and spicy anise and garrigue. Ready to drink now and until 2009. Chosen by both Le Bec Fin and Lacroix as their glass pour Chateauneuf. |
